EMERGENCY FIRST AID LEVEL A/A+

A one day course that covers immediate life threatening conditions such as circulatory and respiratory emergencies as well as severe bleeding for adults and children. Topics include: Scene survey/When to call EMS, the recovery position for conscious and unconscious casualties, CPR/AED training, airway obstruction management, cardiac arrest, heart attack and stroke, wound care. Breathing emergencies such as asthma, anaphylaxis and hyperventilation are also addressed.

In addition to adults and children the content in this course also addresses the needs of infant casualties. Immediate life threatening conditions are covered such as: CPR/AED use, airway obstruction management, cardiac arrest, heart attack and stroke, severe bleeding, wound care and various breathing emergencies such as asthma, anaphylaxis, and hyperventilation are reviewed. Scene survey/When to call Ems, the recovery position for unconscious and conscious casualties are also covered.

STANDARD FIRST AID LEVEL A/A+

A two day course that cover immediate life threatening conditions as well as conditions that have the potential to become life threatening for adults and children. Topics include: Scene survey/ When to call EMS, the recovery position, CPR/AED use, airway obstruction management, cardiac arrest, heart attack and stroke, severe bleeding and wound care, as well as various breathing emergencies. Also included in this course is the first aid for hot and cold emergencies, emergency child birth, seizures, diabetic conditions, poisons and burns. Additional wound care such as splinting and slinging as well as proper care for someone with head, neck and spine injuries are reviewed.

STANDARD FIRST AID LEVEL C

Severe bleeding, wound care and various breathing emergencies are all reviewed. Also addressed are head, neck and spine injuries, splinting and slinging as well as first aid for hot and cold emergencies, seizures, diabetic emergencies, emergency child birth, poisons and burns. Students are expected to be familiar with all the content of this course in order to register.

STANDARD FIRST AID - BLS

This comprehensive 18-hour course combines our Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider courses for a best-in-class foundation in emergency response and care. This instructor-led course is designed to meet provincial workplace regulatory requirements* and is intended for healthcare and emergency care professionals and providers across varying disciplines. The course reinforces how to recognize and stabilize ill or injured persons with a number of life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.
